As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Casso was one of four lawyers working what was then the busiest federal criminal docket in the U.S.A. Having prosecuted hundreds of cases involving federal drug and immigration laws, bank fraud and money laundering, Casso is the author of “The Successful Prosecution of Drug Smuggling Knowledge Cases—a guide,” which details his unique approach in trying “knowledge cases”, recognized in the field as an especially difficult challenge.

In the civil sphere, Casso enjoyed considerable experience in commercial litigation associated with the Uniform Commercial Code, including numerous matters concerning customs laws such as the seizure of commercial cargo.
